The CIT presents...

The GRIT Conference!

The Growing Resources of Information Technology Conference, also known as GRIT, was created to give the students in the Center for Information Technology at Deep Run High School a professional conference just for them. With the help of speakers, vendors, alumni, and college representatives, students left with an enhanced understanding of the wide variety of opportunities available to them within Information Technology and Computer Science. The conference offered students breakout sessions in Education, Career, and Technology.

About GRIT

Deep Run’s Center for Information Technology strives to equip its students with the skills needed to pursue successful careers in Information Technology and Computer Science. Our curriculum prepares students with rigorous courses in Computer Science and develops their soft skills during their four years here.

We created GRIT! GRIT’s intention was to give our students a professional conference to help prepare them for their future. Students had the opportunity to network and learn from speakers, vendors, and college representatives, as well as CIT alumni, who were actively navigating the world of Information Technology and Computer Science. GRIT prepared our students in a professional setting and was beneficial to their future!

The CIT is excited to announce that Dr. Vint Cerf, the Father of the Internet, was our opening Keynote Speaker for this conference! It was a wonderful opportunity for our students to hear directly from someone who had such a significant impact on our world and whom they had learned about in their studies at the CIT.
